I am looking forward to this new book - well sort of - I have a feeling I will get very irritated, and not at you. :) Your research is daunting, and I know you ponder, think deeply and pray over whatever you set out to do. Bravo Dorothy!

Is there such a thing as “too much” dark chocolate? ;-) Also, I’d call you brave, not crazy. Bravo!

2 yrs ago, I would have said no, but after reading that report on hi levels of lead in chocolate, I have changed my mind.

With great soberness, I am eagerly awaiting the arrival of your book, Dorothy. As a husband, father, and son, a friend, a former pastor, a therapist and business owner, I see the real-time effects of misogyny all around me. And I need light shown on blind spots. My fear that the noise around us and the inability to introspectively and collaboratively engage sensitive nuances will make it difficult for us to chew on and metabolize your work as a community will not keep me from creating space in my home and relationships to use your work as a table to gather around. Thank you for creating context, impetus, motivation, and clarity in this work, at such great cost.

Yes, it is a tough time to have nuanced conversations. And I'm well aware this book will not go over well with everyone in Christendom. I know you are doing your work and I so appreciate that.

Dorothy, I cannot wait to read your book! Thank you for taking us along on the journey a little on social media. I know it's been a challenging topic, but it's so important. Also, thank you for this break out on how you started outlining and your research. I want to write a book on the history of immigration in the US and share a few immigrant stories along the way. I know it's a big project, but it's in my heart, and I know lots of research will need to be done to write it. Lastly, I'd love to read Marriage In The Middle!

I am not as disciplined with early outlining! I do more messy drafting than I’d like to admit!

I’m looking forward to your book, Dorothy! I’m impressed by the amount of research you did for your work.

Also, I agree writing a book, especially a controversial one, is not for the faint of heart! But I am sorry you strained friendships and lost ministry positions after your last one. It’s hard to put ourselves and our opinions out there!

It is!! I try very hard not to unnecessarily offend folks. In this case, my writing revealed some significant differences that we suspected but didn't fully realize. We so wish that this one couple had come to us to talk about their anger rather than cutting us off. I know you get this.

I got what you were saying until you used the phrase "too much dark chocolate." What does that even mean?

Dorothy Littell Greco's avatar

Ha. As in it's impossible to eat too much? (I'd be less worried were it not for the recent studies that showed how much lead is in much chocolate.)
